4 months old

Ok, so technically Samuel is 4 1/2 months old, but we just had his 4 month check up today. He's doing great! He continues to be in the 80-90% for weight (weighing in at 17 lbs. 3 ounces) and 50% for height (25 inches). He's rolling all over and loves to play on his tummy. He may be starting to teeth, as he constantly has the need to have something in his mouth (whether it's his fingers, our fingers, my shoulder, a burp cloth...you name it). We are so thankful for this healthy, happy boy!

Garage sales

In the past I haven't been a huge fan of garage sales. I usually don't have the patience to look through all the junk, to find the treasure. But, now with a baby, I realize how awesome garage sales are! So, when my friend told me about her church's annual garage sale, I jumped at the chance to go, even though it meant waking up at the crack of dawn. I went last year, after I found out I was pregnant, but just felt overwhelmed as I had no idea what I needed. This year I had two major things in mind that I was looking for: a high chair and a jumper seat. What do you know....I found both!!! I got a great high chair and a very fun jumper/entertainment seat for Sam (which he loves!!)...all for $7!!!!!!!! I love garage sales!!! I can't wait to see what other stuff I find at sales this summer.

BBQ

Finally, spring has arrived in Chicago. It's about time! It's so wonderful to see green grass and budding trees, to be able to take walks, and sit outside on the porch.


Last night we had our first BBQ of the season! We got out the grill and our friends, Jonatan, Damaris, and Josiah, joined us for some yummy brats and potato salad! It was so much fun and a great way to relax at the end of the day.

A visit from Jason and Ingris

I can't believe already a week has gone by since my brother, Jason, and his wife, Ingris, came to visit.

They took advantage of the fact that they were both on spring break and made a quick trip to Chicago to stay with us for a few days. One of the highlights of our time together was going to see Juanes (amazing singer from Colombia) in concert!

We also enjoyed a meal at a Colombian restaurant and a trip to a Colombian grocery store. We also had some time just to chill and catch up on life.
