1 month old

Yep, it's official, Samuel is one month old today! We took him to the doctor for his check-up and he weighed in at: 11 lbs 8 ounces. Yikes!!! He just keeps on growing. He's also 22 inches long. We can't believe it's already been a month...and we've survived so far. We are so thankful for a healthy baby, even if we aren't getting a whole lot of sleep!

A special day

My how time flies! I can't believe it's that time of year again...the time when I turn another year older. This year it's the big 30!!!! Yikes, I'm an adult! There's no denying it now! Still, I wasn't dreading this birthday (as much as I dreaded turning 29). Maybe that's because I really haven't even had time to think about it. If it wasn't for friends and family sending me their birthday wishes, I probably would have forgotten (or maybe not). So, there won't be a huge celebration, but my wonderful husband took Sam and I out to dinner tonight. We'll be having a little party on Saturday and then I get to celebrate in a couple weeks with two of my dear friends, who are also turning thirty. So...I guess we'll just keep the celebration going for awhile.

It's hard to believe that 30 years ago, I was born on the coldest day of the year! I was also born on my uncle Bruce's birthday...and I'm so grateful he's been willing to share his birthday with me ever since. Happy Birthday Uncle Bruce!!!! Only the coolest people are born on January 10th! This picture was taken months ago, when uncle Bruce was in town and treated us to some yummy Chicago-style pizza. Thanks again!!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! It's hard to believe it is officially January 1st, 2008. Where has time gone? We hope you had a great time celebrating. Unfortunately, I (Katie), didn't make it past 10pm...but I have a legitimate reason this year - I'm supposed to sleep when the baby sleeps :) Here are some recent pictures of Sam, who turns 3 weeks old today. Again, Happy New Year from our family to yours!
