Last weekend I had some fun "girl" time as we threw a baby shower for our good friend Julie. She is due in April and it's been so fun to walk through pregnancy together. We're so excited for her and Keith and can't wait to meet baby Peterson.

Rock Star!
As much work as it is having a toddler around the house, it sure is a lot of fun. Julio and I find ourselves laughing all the time. It's amazing to watch Sam engage in conversation and use such a large vocabulary. His English and Spanish vocab continues to grow daily. He is also developing his love of singing :) He loves the alphabet, twinkle twinkle little star, songs from his Diego videos, the elefante song in Spanish, etc.
Here he is singing one of the songs we sing at church, "Mighty to Save."

Peanut butter
So a few weeks ago Sam discovered peanut butter. He loves it! He loves it on toast, on crackers, or by itself.
Yesterday I caught him climbing on some boxes in our pantry to get the peanut butter jar. He managed to get it down and when I went to take it from him he said, "No, I hold it." So he sat down on the floor, twisted off the cap and proceeded to put it up to his mouth and take a lick. I instructed him that we don't eat directly out of the jar and then we need to put it on something. So, he stood up, opened up the silverware drawer, pulled out a butter knife, dipped it in the peanut butter and then went to lick it off.
I guess I need to be more specific about what types of things we can put peanut butter on. I was amazed watching him! He knew exactly what he was doing! Every day he exerts his independence and new big boy skills. It's wonderful and terrifying all at the same time.
