The Perfect Weekend

Have you ever had one of those PERFECT weekends? It's a combination of fun, relaxation, quality time with people you love, good food, and great weather. Well, that is exactly what this past weekend was like for us. From start to finish it was PERFECT.

The weekend kicked off with an evening of sailing on Lake Michigan. My coworkers have a sailboat and invited Julio and I, along with two other couples to join them for an evening on the boat. We started out the evening with a tasty meal (yep, there's even a grill on the boat), followed by a sunset cruise on Lake Michigan, topped off with s'mores and champagne (to celebrate the engagement of our friends TK and Sarah...congratulations!!) Of course, the weather Friday night was absolutely PERFECT, which made our time even more enjoyable. It was warm, with a slight breeze and there was not a cloud in the sky. And there is nothing like the Chicago skyline at night. So, as we sailed, we just sat back and soaked it all in. Here are some pictures to commemorate the evening. Thanks go out to Bruce and Carol for your wonderful hospitality and to Kjersten, Michael, Sarah and TK for your wonderful company and friendship.

After a great night on Fri. we continued our PERFECT weekend on Sat. by exploring downtown Evanston (Northern Suburb), which included a yummy lunch and a great movie! Sunday, the fun continued as we took a little road trip to Wisconsin. It was a great day for a drive in the country. Our first stop was an apple orchard, The Elegant Farmer, where we sampled caramel corn and apple pie! We'll definitely have to take a trip back in the fall to go apple picking, ride the electric trolley, and of course, eat some more pie! Our second stop was Lake Geneva, where we relaxed by the lake, strolled down the streets stopping in the quaint shops, and of course, ate some more. It was another PERFECT day! Hope your Labor Day weekend was full of fun and happy memories!
