Christmas in Minnesota

This Christmas, we piled in our car and drove to Minnesota to celebrate Christmas with our family there. We were thankful to have missed most of the bad weather, and arrived late Monday night. Our Christmas was a nice mixture of relaxation, activity, friends and family. Tuesday we spent most of the day sitting around the house, going out to lunch, and visiting with some great friends.

Visiting our friends the Donleys!

Meeting our new friend, Althea, and hanging out with her parents

Christmas Eve we relaxed in the morning and visited great-grandma Alice. In the afternoon we went to church, where we got to see lots of friends and celebrate the birth of Jesus. After church, we came back to my parents where we had lots of yummy appetizers, a fire in the fireplace, a nice dinner, and an evening of games. My brother and his wife were there and spent the night, so we had lots of time to hang out.

Who needs toys when there are boxes and paper to play with!

Christmas Day we woke up and all gathered in the living room to open some gifts and then enjoyed a homemade pancake breakfast. We spent the day relaxing, playing more games, sleeping, talking, talking to relatives, visiting Janna and Robby. What a great way to spend Christmas!
